Strangely enough this failed thrice with an error message (seemingly dismissed by losing focus) which claimed that install.wim was corrupt or could not be read anyway just prior to the ISO creation. Hitting "Process" I disabled Windows Defender the first time around and then wait for the processing to finish. I am attaching a screenshot of the summary page: I leave the remainder of settings the way they are ("Image format" -> "Standard, editable (WIM)") and only check "Create ISO" at the very bottom. Alternatively I have also tried using "Save the image and trim editions" without modifying anything in the "Remove nonessential editions" node. So in the "Apply" tab I pick either "Save the image" and then check the checkboxes for items 1 through 9 (all superfluous editions) in the "Remove nonessential editions" node.
After verifying your settings below click 'Start'. Click the small button to the right of the 'ISO Image' dropdown and browse to the Win10Yoga.iso located on your desktop. To verify that everything got loaded properly, I inspect the individual "tabs" and all seems fine. Check 'Create a bootable disk using ISO Image' Step 8. I then use the (previously auto-saved) Preset from the right-hand pane and choose "Load" -> "Overwrite".

This is the 圆4 disk with "consumer editions".Īfter adding the "Image directory" from the "Image" tab (a simple copy of the DVD image contents in a writable location), I tell NTLite to load item number 10 (Windows 10 Pro N for Workstations). Look up the instructionals for more info on rufus.I am using the disk labeled CPBA_X64FRE_EN-US_DV9 from MSDN. Select UEFI:NTFS partition types and GPT partition, but for a format of the drive, change ntfs down below to ExFat (extended FAT32 compatible). Then use rufus to make a usb flash drive installer from your new iso. wim image of your chosen version back into an ESD, an Encrypted System Disk (compressed, not editable) image.
Finally, you need to make sure you make the windows. You can pull back just what you want later.

If you have a running system, I suggest you leave the app reinstalls alone and use a tool like PC mover to store all of that. I am adding Visual C Redistributable packages as far back as 2008 for backward compatibility with some older apps. Don't put in OFFICE or other software, instead, focus on controllers for any hardware, and a few small tools. Look them over, you should be able to tell. Lastly, I added only those programs that have unattended installers. I used this loaded edition to put in any remaining updates and drivers, then I added all features, services etc. From here, I made sure my desired edition was "loaded" with NTLite, as it had been converted to. I then repeated my extraction, deleting the original extraction.

Once the extraction was complete, I added drivers etc to the setup and all other editions, and created an iso afterward. Once finished, I used 7zip to extract that to a local folder on an ntfs drive (large image sizes require this step, as any Fat32 drive like my original usb won't work it'll crash because the images are too big). I then had to add the directory, then create an ISO from it. I started with a stock windows installer on a usb flash, retail version, old build. I'm running this right now, point of fact.
